Used Book Buy Back Policy

Donate your books to The Nonbinarian Bookstore & Book Bike!

Sell us your queer books (all ages, all genres, all languages) in new, like new, or very good condition:

  • No water damage, foxing, or mold.
  • No writing or highlighting.
  • No rips, tears, or folded pages (to the dust jacket, flaps, inside cover, or pages).
  • No textbooks, mass-produced periodicals (zines are fine!), diet books, books by TERFs, Zionists, or white supremacists.

We only accept queer authored books. We’re not in the business of policing who is out, particularly with children’s literature (ages 0-18), but we do appreciate you researching as best you can before bringing your books in to verify that they are in fact queer authored. We may make exceptions for radical organizing texts, particularly for kids books, on a case by case basis.

Buy back in exchange for:

  • Store credit (does not expire, we will keep on file at the store).
  • Choose to donate to the bookstore for us to resell.
  • Choose to donate to the book bike to distribute for free.
  • Choose to donate what would be your store credit value to our “gay it forward” sponsor wall (you can write the note, we assign the $ value).

Please note: We do not offer cash in exchange for buy backs unless it was purchased from us with proof of purchase (digital or physical receipt of sale) within 14 days.

About The Nonbinarian

The Nonbinarian Bookstore is an exclusively queer bookstore and community space. It is an extension of the Nonbinarian Book Bike, which was formed to provide access to and promote representation of queer stories for all ages, directly bringing LGBTQIA2S+ books to the folks that need them most.

The Nonbinarian collective strives to empower and affirm queer and trans people of all ages by offering accessible services, such as free resources, workshops, and events, as well as continuing the foundational work of the Book Bike's mobile book distribution.
